The safety review reports, issued by China in mid June 2012, concluded that both nuclear power stations in operation and under construction are in compliance with national safety regulations and International Atomic Energy Agency standards. This means that the rapid expansion of the commercial nuclear power programme in the Pearl-River Delta region will likely continue. In view of this, the Hong Kong Nuclear Society organizes this symposium, as part of its Inauguration Events, to explore the safe application of nuclear energy and associated risks. Invited local and overseas experts will share their views on the challenges and opportunities associated with the latest nuclear development in the region.

For HKNS and members of supporting organisations, there will be no fee to attend and please proceed to register at this website.

For General registration ($300 registration fee), please use the reply form in Flyer or contact Dr Louis Liu.

Remarks: Registration is first-come-first-serve.
