Talk - Leading the Revolution of Train Asset Management

Nowadays, MTR operates over 1800 passenger vehicles along 10 heavy rail lines and one light rail systems, serving over 4 million passengers daily.  Sustaining asset performance growth is paramount important for HK passengers.  Great challenges are encountered due to non-linear changes on customer expectation, asset aging, cost reduction as a result of no fare rise and lost of talent due to retirement wave.  In order to continue the growth of high train performance, a revolution mechanism is developed to manage train asset on four “P” approach, namely Performance, Practices, People and Platform.  With the Best Practices on Asset management, MTR train performance sustains a substantial growth in the past decade.  The revolution journey continues under the MTR Vision 2020.  The Seminar will share how the approach brings the asset management revolution.
